【abstract】 objective to find out water quality of secondary water supply system of high buildings. methods sampling water was taken from sencondary water supply system. total bacterial count, total coliform group, residual chlorine and ammonia nitrogen were detected respectively. results total bacterial count, total coliform group and ammonia nitrogen of water taken from secondary water supply system in winter-spring and summer-autumn were significantly higher than those from normal potable water(t=2.57-28.62,p<0.05,0.01) ; residual chlorine was significantly lower than that of the normal drinking water(t=24.50-31.58,p<0.01). total bacterial count, total coliform group and ammonia nitrogen of secondary water supply system in summer-autumn were significantly higher than those in winter-spring(t=2.24-24.72,p<0.05,0.01). conclusion water quality of secondary water supply system was worse than that of normal potable water.
